When someone deploys a new exchange server 2016 he most likely to face an issue where exchange 2016 mail is not delivered to the mailbox, nor outlook neither OWA will receive internal Emails, while Email can be seen in the sent items folder.

The Solution

Let’s get your wait over and move to the solution to this energy drainer issue. You have to follow below mentioned steps in order to get the internal mail flow working.

  1. Check if A Record is created in your DNS Server for the Exchange server. Create Manually if it is not there and make sure it is resolving internally for respective IP of Exchange server.
  2. Exchange server and Client both must have your DNS Server as a primary DNS in their IP Settings.Do not use google DNS as Secondary Just leave the fields empty.
  3. At last use below mentioned command for both Exchange server and Client.

ipconfig /flushdns

Boom all previously sent Email should be in inboxes of their respective mail boxes.
