Due to security reasons Windows server 2012 does not allow multiple remote connections simultaneously. System Administrator very often require to access server with multiple users when they are working as a Team. In this Blog we will guide you enable multiple RDP Sessions.

By default windows server 2012 supports 2 concurrent sessions for Administration.

Follow below steps in sequence to have multiple Remote Desktop Connections on windows server 2012.

1. Open command prompt
2.write gpedit.msc and open it
3.Go to computer configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components
->Remote Desktop services -> Remote Desktop Session Host -> Connections.
4. Here Disable the below mentioned.
Restrict Remote Desktop Services user to a single remote.

5.Now Run elevated CMD and type gpupdate and hit enter. It should successfully applied.

RDP Limitations

Double click Limit number of connections and set the RD Maximum connections allowed to any number of users you want i.e 2.Below is the Demonstration for the same.
